[Print-friendly version] Welcome to the Information Professionals Alumni Chapter website! The Information Professionals Alumni Chapter has been established as a means of maintaining a link between QUT's Library and Information Studies and Teacher-Librarianship courses, and graduates out in the field. The Alumni chapter committee has planned a number of social, networking and professional development opportunities for graduates. If you are interested in becoming a member of the chapter, contact the QUT Alumni Office with your contact details, and a note on why you are interested in joining. Graduates of QUT's library degree programs, including teacher librarians, who would like an invitation to our next event, should email the Chapter on ip.alumni@qut.edu.au and a committee member will contact you to provide you with further information. Our events are usually open to everyone, so you don't need to be a graduate to attend. We are continually looking for suggestions about where our Alumni Chapter should be going, so please do not hesitate to contact us with your ideas! Due to a generously bequeathed gift the QUT Information Professionals Alumni Chapter is awarding a bursary to each of two industry conferences being held in Brisbane, in February 2013 New Librarians' Symposium 6 10-11 February 2013 (Workshops: 9 Feb; Info Online trade exhibition: 12 Feb) Queensland University of Technology Gardens Point Campus newlibrarianssymposium.com ALIA Information Online 2013 12-15 February 2013 Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre South Brisbane information-online.com.au The Ian Maddox Memorial Bursary is awarded to QUT alumni or current QUT students of library and information studies; information management; or teacher librarianship courses. If you are interested in attending NLS6 or ALIA Information Online, you can apply for a bursary to cover the cost of your registration. To apply, simply let us know how attending one of these conferences would make a difference to your career. As both conference themes reflect difference, the QUT IP Alumni committee will select entries which are creative, unique, and demonstrate the difference conference attendance will make for the entrant.
