China Study Tour Alumni Group Update

A number of tour participants from the last few years meet on the 3rd of June to discuss the possible development of a networking group for those that had participated in the tour since its inception in 2000.

Those attending (with feedback from a number of tour attendees who were unable to attend) discussed the opportunities for building long term relationships within and between years of China Study Tour participants. The meeting attendees took into account that a past tour participants lived globally and that there is an opportunity for cross year networking both face to face and online.

In the short term, it was decided that two activities occur and depending on response to and feedback on these activities, further decisions would be made.

The first activity held was a drinks night on Thursday, 1 July 2004.

The second activity is an Online listing of tour members.

It was also decided that each year needed a contact that would be a point of contact for each year, to be the main point of contact for each year, plus a friendly face to look out for at the Events!

The initial stage of this idea was to list all tour attendees, with an email address link to assist in renewing contact. Alumni can also include a brief bit of news about themselves if they wish.
