The Student Leadership Awards, an initiative of QUT Alumni, aims to recognise students of QUT for their contributions to the University and the wider community.

Each year one overall winner - QUT Alumni Student Leader of the Year and up to 9 Student Leadership Excellence Awards will be awarded.

Current domestic and international students of QUT studying towards an undergraduate degree are eligible candidates for the awards. Students who have displayed service to the University and the community are eligible for awards. Students must be currently enrolled at the time of closing date for nominations.

Queensland University of Technology announced Journalism student Sarah Moran as the 2008 Student Leader Award winner as its Student Leadership Awards Ceremony. In addition, nine Student Excellence Awards Winners were also announced.
